Even a small handbag can cause serious damage especially when there are a lot of people in the Museum. Unfortunately there's no way around locking up your bags and coats at the entrance in order to protect the exhibits. We're constantly improving the permanent exhibition and reviews like yours help. The Zeppelin Museum actually has the largest collection on airships in the world, so maybe you did miss a section which would be a shame (but a reason to come back and see everything in a new light). Don’t expect to be treated with courtesy.ĭear ShellsM_89, thank you for your visit and your rating. As someone who has a Masters in History, I respect and have an appreciation for museums, however I was seriously let down by almost every aspect of this museum, I don’t think I would recommend this unless the visitor has a specific interest in Zeppelin’s. We were a family of 4 adults who have visited various countries all over the world and this was our second visit to Germany, previously we had been in Berlin and had a totally different experience. As a foreign visitor do not expect to be treated with the courtesy generally awarded to other people. It appeared that favouritism was awarded to the local visitors as foreign visitors had their belongings confiscated. Locals were greeted with a friendly welcome, whereas foreign visitors were told to leave there belongings outside, this included small hand bags, coats and umbrellas, when we questioned why we were being made leave belongings behind the elder ticket man, dismissed us with a wave of a hand. We noticed a two tiered system in regards to security and entering the exhibits. An interesting museum, however a lot of reading between the lines is required to understand the exhibits, certain relevant periods of the 1900’s are not addressed in the museum.
